Have you been slotted?
We are currently looking for the best Twin Cities artists to apply for a slot on the show. What is an artist? Anyone who creates their own, original music or mixes it (we’re not going to dump on DJs). Artist(s) can be individuals or groups. You’ll need to have at least five original tracks that you’ll be able to perform for the studio audience. NOTE: Lyricists can not use instrumentals from other artists (eg. Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin"). That also means cover songs will not be accepted. Besides that, being interesting also helps. If you have a good story about how your band formed or experiences that shook up your lives, those are definite pluses. But the bottom line is you have to have great music. Our panel will be the judges of that.
So are you a Slot artist? Let’s see! The best way to get on to The Slot is to submit a demo to our offices. We will review the demos on a first come first served basis so it pays to get yours in early. Once the panel of judges have decided on the 20 artists, these artists will be contacted for a shoot date. Which means make sure your contact information is accurate. You would not want to lose your slot because of something simple like that. Be sure to tell all your fans if you're one of The Slot artists!
